Why governance first
The policy comes before the prompt.
An AI rollout fails in one of two ways: locked down so hard nobody uses it, or opened so wide that client files drift into tools nobody approved. The engagement threads that needle. A written policy your partners can stand behind, settings that enforce it rather than trusting memory, and training so staff know what the firm allows and why.
Questions firms ask us
Is our client data used to train the AI?
No. Copilot runs inside your firm’s own Microsoft 365 tenant, and Microsoft does not use your prompts or your files to train its models. Part of the engagement is configuring and verifying the settings that keep it that way, and putting that answer in writing in your AI policy.
What does governed actually mean?
A written, firm-specific policy: which tools are allowed, what data they may touch, who approves exceptions. Security settings that enforce the policy instead of trusting memory. A training session so staff know the rules and the reasons. And a go-live checklist, so nothing is switched on before it is locked down.
Our staff already paste things into free AI tools. Is that a problem?
It is worth knowing about, at minimum. Free tools have no duty of confidentiality to your clients, and without a policy nobody can say what has left the firm. The point of the engagement is not to ban AI. It is to give staff a sanctioned tool and clear rules, which beats quiet workarounds every time.
Do we need Copilot for the whole firm?
No. Licensing is per seat. Most firms start with the people buried in email and documents, see what it earns, then widen. We size it with you.
What does it cost?
The onboarding and governance engagement is a flat fee, and the connector will be priced per user. We quote both in a conversation once we understand your firm, because firms are not interchangeable. Book a meeting and ask.
