How switching works
You stop Friday afternoon. You're working Monday morning.
- 1 We plan it together
We scope your firm, agree on the details, and pick a weekend. For accounting firms, never between February 15 and April 30.
- 2 We prepare in the background
You give us administrator access and a list of your people; that is nearly all we need. Our team onboards your workstations and servers, patches and scans everything, and brings your Microsoft 365 up to our security baseline. Your staff keep working; most of this they never notice.
- 3 We build your desktop and move your data
We install and license your applications, work with each of your users to set up their machines, and start copying your data ahead of time.
- 4 The cutover weekend
Friday afternoon your team stops. We take the final copy of your data and switch you over. Usually everything is ready Sunday; we say Monday to be safe.
- 5 Monday morning
Same username, same password, one new icon. Everything exactly where it was on Friday, now faster and safer.
We have run dozens of these cutovers in the past year alone. Small things come up: someone is on vacation, a workstation needs replacing. A firm that could not work on Monday? We can't remember the last one.

Will our software run fast enough?
Usually faster than it did in the office. Your applications run in the same environment as your data, so CaseWare and tax software stop waiting on an office network. And during tax season we can add capacity for your busiest weeks, then scale it back after April.
What if the office internet goes down?
Your desktop is unaffected; it lives in the cloud, not the office. Staff pick up from home, a phone hotspot, or anywhere else with a connection, and everything is exactly where they left it.
Whose data is it?
Yours. It lives in Canada, it is backed up on the schedule printed on our backup page, and if you ever leave, it leaves with you.
Do we have to move everything?
No. Plenty of firms run a mix, and some firms should not have a hosted desktop at all. Most law firms are better served by our workstation model with cloud-native software. If that is you, we will say so in the first meeting.
